Bishop Dr. D. Selvarajan was born on January 27, 1962, to the most God-fearing couple, Dasan and Muthamma, at Ottaplavila, Venkadambu, Valiyavila. He completed his primary and secondary education at Bishop Benziger Memorial L.P.S., Valiyavila; St. Peter’s U.P.S., Vlatthankara; and Government High School, Kulathoor.

He joined St. Vincent’s Minor Seminary, Palayam, on June 11, 1978. He pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Carmelgiri Pontifical Seminary, Alwaye (1981–1984), and his theological studies at Pontifical Seminary, Mangalappuzha (1984–1987). He was ordained to the priesthood on December 23, 1987, by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Jacob Acharuparambil.

He proceeded to Belgium on October 9, 1995, to pursue higher studies. He obtained a Licentiate and a Doctorate in Canon Law from the Catholic University of Leuven. He is proficient in Malayalam, English, French, Latin, German, and Greek.

Appointment to the Episcopate: 

He was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Neyyattinkara on February 8, 2025. He was consecrated as Bishop on March 25, 2025, and canonically took possession of office as the Bishop of the Diocese of Neyyattinkara on October 18, 2025, following the acceptance of the resignation of Bishop Vincent Samuel by the Holy See.
